The Sorsogon
Provincial Tourism Council (SPTC) is a non-stock, non-profit
organization of the various associations and sectors representing
the local private tourism industry organized for the purpose of
discussing issues and problems, drawing
up policies, and implementing various programs and projects
affecting or related to the promotion and development of the tourism
industryin the Province of Sorsogon.

The
Province of Sorsogon as a primary tourist destination, offering
world-class accommodations, resort and food service facilities, with
well-maintained infrastructure support systems state-of-the-art
telecommunications and transport services, but with well-preserved
and protected environment and natural resources, heritage and
distinct culture and arts, under a private sector-led, but
government-supported programs that translate into reality a
fully-empowered tourism industry with the local population fully
benefiting from it, while at the same time serving as a mirror of
the true Bicolano and Filipino hospitality.

industry primarily tries to chart a path toward the
upgrading, development and maintenance of local tourist
destinations in order to widen the economic opportunities
for local residents and improve their quality of life
through tourism. |

industry endeavors to strengthen the capabilities of the
local tourism councils and the local government units in
planning, developing and promoting the province’s rich
natural and man-made resources for sustainable growth. |

industry hopes to encourage the adoption and enactment of
local legislative measures for the protection and
enhancement of the environment through awareness campaigns
aimed at countering or mitigating the negative impacts of
local tourism development. |

industry hopes to ensure a pleasant stay and experience for
tourists while at the same time trying to protect the
interests, welfare, rights and culture of the host
community, promote quality tourism, and provide a favorable
atmosphere for investment flows in local tourism development
projects. |
