So refreshingly different from the usual tourist destinations and sophisticated package tours, enjoy Sorsogon’s still unspoiled natural attractions. It is one big eco-tour package.

The Bulusan Mountain Lake Resort and the still active Mt. Bulusan, which comprises what is known collectively as the Mt. Bulusan Natural Park, are at the core of this land-based eco-tour activity, featuring adventure walks through pristine and green forests, and communing with the beautiful and mystical mountain lake in the middle of a forested volcano’s slopes. This is a cross-country eco-trek through forested mountains, scaling an active volcano, mountain biking, swimming in the numerous hot and cold springs and mineral water spas surrounding the still active volcano, and spelunking and exploring mysterious caves hidden in the middle of the jungle. This is a nature-lover’s dream tour.

Coastal and sea-based, this eco-tour activity covers most of the towns of Sorsogon where tourists can enjoy Sorsogon’s coastal havens and indulge in their favorite aquasports – SCUBA diving, snorkeling, sport fishing, surfing and jet-skiing, island-hopping, or just simply swimming, sunbathing and beachcombing, or just gorging on the freshest of seafood one could ever imagine. This include the magnificent white sand beaches of Gubat, Prieto-Diaz, Barcelona, Bulusan, Sta. Magdalena and Sorsogon City’s Bacon District. And there is the high-adventure island-hopping to the numerous islands dotting the seas of Matnog, featuring pink sand island beaches, underwater island caves inhabited by giant bats, excellent dive sites with colorful coral reefs, and the high-end eco-tour adventure of them all – the Whale Shark or Butanding Interaction Adventure off the waters of Donsol, including the adjacent towns of Pilar, Castilla, Magallanes, even Bacon District in Sorsogon City, during the months of February to May each year. Sorsogon, after all, is The Whale Shark Capital of the World.

This is a glimpse of Sorsogon’s rich heritage, culture and history – a historico-cultural pilgrimage to its well-preserved century-old Spanish churches, colonial old houses, forts, baluartes, murallas, ancient shipyards or astilleros, historical monuments, including participation in local festivals and fiestas, especially the Kasanggayahan Festival in October, featuring the inimitable Pantomina sa Tinampo, or the love-dance of the doves in the streets of Sorsogon; and Sorsogon City’s Pili Festival every month of June, featuring the many uses of the Pili Tree, the Majestic Tree of Sorsogon. And there are the numerous local legends and myths given life in the other local festivals, town and barrio fiestas and, of course, the antiquities found in the churches, ancient houses, ruins and archeological excavations. Everything close to the heart of any historico-cultural buff.

A tour of Sorsogon's agricultural resources and products, especially its coconut, rice and abaca plantations, with special focus on its indigenous Pili Tree plantations.  The versatile Pili Tree,  with its numerous uses--from its trunk, sap, fruit, shell, nut-is indigenous to Sorsogon.  Try your hand also at abaca stripping, and savor the sweet and soft meat of young coconuts straight from the tree.
